OVERVIEW

D.Pharmacy is a two-year regular full-time diploma programme designed to equip individuals to work in hospitals, community pharmacies, and other pharmaceutical-related sectors under the supervision of a licenced pharmacist.Academic training lasts two years with a minimum of 180 working days each year, followed by a practical training of 500 hours spread over three months at a government hospital, dispensary, or pharmacy recognised by PCI-New Delhi.

Eligibilty for Admission

  • A Pass in HSc or equivalent with the following group of subjects
    • Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics
    • Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology
  • Age: 17 years and above
Career prospects

Aside from higher education programmes such as B.Pharm, certified candidates may begin working as chemists in India.

·        Working as a chemist at government/private hospitals/community health centres

·        Other than working for hospitals or private drug stores, such professionals with adequate financial resources and business abilities may open their own private drug stores.

·        Work at pharmaceutical firms in a variety of departments such as process control, production, quality control, and marketing. They may work in the marketing sector for companies that promote pharmaceutical goods. Medical salespeople, medical transcriptionists, and technical supervisors are among jobs they might have.

·        In private companies, production executives and scientific officers are employed.
