Program Overview

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) is a four-year undergraduate professional programme that provides comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences and prepares students for diverse roles in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. The course covers key areas such as Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical engineering, Medicinal chemistry, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical analysis, enabling students to understand the development, manufacture, quality control, and safe use of medicines. B. Pharm is a highly job-oriented and better choice among science students, offering strong career prospects in both public and private sectors.

Course Outcomes:

After completing the B.Pharm program, graduates will be able to apply scientific principles in drug formulation and development, ensure quality and safety of pharmaceutical products, understand regulatory and ethical aspects of pharmacy practice, and effectively participate in healthcare delivery. Students also develop analytical, technical, and professional skills required for industrial, clinical, and research-based roles.

Scope of B.Pharm:

 

B.Pharm graduates can pursue careers as pharmacists, production and quality control executives, medical representatives, drug inspectors, regulatory affairs officers, and research associates in pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and healthcare organizations. They may also opt for higher studies such as M.Pharm, Pharm.D, MBA, or research programmes, and opening pathways to academia, research, and leadership roles. Eligibilty for Admission

Except for the SC/ST community, all candidates must have a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in HSc scientific courses (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, or Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, or Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology). Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, holders of a Diploma in Pharmacy (from a PCI recognised college) are qualified to undertake this course. The Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi, will establish the program’s curriculum and syllabi.

Each semester must include at least 100 working days. Every calendar year, the odd semesters will run from June/July to November/December, while the even semesters will run from December/January to May/June.
